The floating caliper design is the most common one in modern cars. It provides improved ventilation for the braking system, effectively dissipating the heat generated during braking. In addition, this type of design is lightweight and compact, as well as easy and economical to maintain.
The caliper pistons are chrome-plated, which ensures that they are resistant to corrosion and extends the service life of the assembly. The surfaces of the calipers are also precision machined.
The guide pins (cylindrical and solid) are made of high-strength 40Cr alloy steel, which has undergone a salt bath nitriding process to improve hardness and wear and corrosion resistance.
The boots and seals are made of EPDM rubber, giving them increased resistance to harsh environmental influences and allowing them to retain their elasticity throughout their entire service life.
The caliper bodies and brackets are made of high-strength cast iron or aluminium, and are thus able to withstand maximum loads. They also have a protective zinc-nickel coating, which provides anti-corrosion protection and resistance to road chemicals, moisture, solvents, and other harsh substances.
The products come with guide pins, bolts, and clips, which also have a protective zinc-nickel coating. Additionally, the kit includes a high-temperature silicone lubricant compatible with EPDM rubber.
